Crack down on park vandalism

Jena officials started making plans at their regular March meeting held Tuesday night of last week to crack down on the rash of vandalism acts in the Jena Town Park. Mayor Murphy McMillin, using a well-known phase from Mayberry Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife, said it is “time we nipped it in the bud.” McMillin said a meeting would be held with the recreation committee – Donny Richardson and David Paul Jones – and Jena Chief of Police to develop a plan of action that will help insure a stop to the random acts of vandalism in the park.
