Glen McDaniel, 84, of Tullos, passed from this life on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. He was born July 4, 1929 in Sikes to the union of his parents, Bina E. and Effie Erskins McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel worked for Fluor Drilling offshore as a motorman. He served his country in the United States Army, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Tullos United Pentecostal Church. Services were held at 10 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 29, at Tullos United Pentecostal Church in Tullos with the Revs. Henry Rachal, III, and Donnell Spurgeon officiating. Interment followed in the Olla Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Gwen Banes Mc-Daniel of Tullos; three sons, Ricky Lynn McDaniel of Winnfield, Gary Wayne McDaniel and Barry Keith McDaniel, both of Tullos; one daughter, Glenda Faye Palmer of Maryville, TN; four sisters, Reba Womack of West Monroe, Ruth Lee Spangler and Velda Ray Gates, both of Farmerville, and Phillis Porter of Paris, France; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Chad Mc-Daniel, Thor McDaniel, Justin McDaniel, Andrew Finch, Ryan Franklin, and Curtis McNaughton.
