Edith Orlean Cripps, 77, of Belah, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 8, 2013. She was born January 11, 1936 to the union of her parents, Deanie A. and Alice Kennon Allien. Mrs. Cripps was a homemaker and a member of Midway United Pentecostal Church. Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Mike Poole and David Hutchinson, and Chaplain Clyde Gammon officiating. Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lois Mocherman and Estelle Allien; five brothers, Odis Allien, Lonnie Allien, Chester Allien, Brady Allien and Shelby Allien; and a grandson, Billy Ray Otwell. Survivors include her husband, Charlie Cripps of Belah; daughters, Debra Lynn Otwell and husband Billy of Belah, and Teresa Franks and husband Foster of Jena; grandchildren, Crissy Tarver, Chuck Otwell, Alisha Crabtree, and Brad Franks; and a host of great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roy Tarver, Ethan Tarver, Matt Clark, Mark Windham, Ben Otwell, Ricky Otwell, James Cripps, and William Cripps.
