James Jackson, 84, of Jena, passed from this life on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at the LaSalle Nursing Home of Jena. He was a retired waterworks specialist for LaSalle Waterworks District No. 1, and of the Baptist faith. Services were held at 12 noon, Tuesday, October 8, at the New Evergreen Baptist Church of Jena with Rev. Donald R. Sibley officiating. Interment followed in the Webster Cemetery of Good Pine under direction of Gayden Funeral Home of Jena. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Jackson. Survivors include four daughters, Emma Williams and husband Nathaniel of Detroit, MI, Billie Dean and Janie Carr and husband Ron, all of Jena, and Angela Green and husband Alvin of Baton Rouge; six sons, Charlie Jones, Willie Jackson, Charles Jackson, Greg Jackson and wife Cheryl, Bobby Jackson and wife Carolyn, and David Jackson and wife Linda, all of Jena; four brothers, Joe Jackson, Jr. of Saginaw, MI, Melvin Jackson of Sterlington, Monroe Jackson of Alexandria, and Marvin Jackson of Jena; two sisters, Jotreen Jackson and Gloria Howard, both of Jena; 22 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and an entourage of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
