Rosemary Carolyn Conyer Kemp, 90, passed from this life on Monday, November 11, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, after a fall and stroke. She was born July 11, 1923 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to the union of Haleen Mae Collins Conyer and Charles Benjamin Conyer. Mrs. Kemp married Roy Wilfred Kemp on July 22, 1945 and in 1952, the couple moved to Monterey where she lived the remainder of her life. She worked at Dale Insurance in Ferriday until she retired. She sang at many weddings and funerals and was well known for her musical talent. She was also known for her quilting and needlework skills. She was devoted to the Lord and was a faithful member of the Living Church of God. Memorial services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, in the yard of her home at 132 Ryan Road in Monterey. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Katherine Collins; her son, Sandon Lee Kemp; and grandson, Roy Wyatt Kemp. Survivors include her brother, Charles C. Conyer and wife Nancy of Edwardsburg, MI; four children, Kathryn Waldorff and husband Larry of Blountstown, FL, Gayle Dixon and husband Graven of Conroe, TX, Ronald Wayne Kemp and wife Bernice of Telico Plains, TN, and Timothy Ryan Kemp and wife Jayne of Monterey; daughterin-law, Peggy Kemp of Monterey; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
