Norma Rea Roberts, 84, of Grayson, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at her residence. She was born December 25, 1929 in Duty Ferry to the union of her parents, Charles and Gustavea Wyant Cassels. Mrs. Roberts was a good mother and wife who was very caring, giving and loving. She was very outspoken, but she was a caretaker to everyone and would take anybody in. She was a very Christian woman, and was a member of Grayson Baptist Church. Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 16, at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Rick Crandall officiating. Interment followed in the Rosefield Cemetery at Rosefield under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Roberts and Samuel Charlie Chambers; daughters, Dianne Chambers Webb and Leta Jean Roberts; granddaughter, Honora Willhite; sister, Katie Lea Stewart; and brothers, Thomas Cassels, Curtis Cassels, and Troy Monroe Cassels. Survivors include one son, Charles Isaac Chambers; one brother, Aubrey Cassels; two sisters, Audrey Shaffers and Effie Abrams; 11 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Sammy Chambers, Zachary Chambers, Ronnie Wyant, Brandon Martin, Berlon McClanahan, and Dale Peton.
