Rev. Doyle Stockman, 84, of Harrisonburg, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the LaSalle Nursing Home in Jena. He was born on Monday, March 17, 1930, in Ft. Necessity to the union of his parents, Dewey and Hester Lingefelt Stockman. Rev. Stockman was a retired Minister with over 50 years of preaching the gospel. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Services were held at 3
p.m., Saturday, May 3, at New Hope Apostolic Church with the Revs. Justin Nowlin, Allen Hatten, and David Poole officiating. Interment followed in Heard Cemetery of Manifest under direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Ferriday. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Douglas Stockman and Carlton Stockman; and a sister, Vontenna Barnhill. Survivors include hiswife of 52-years, Mary Ogden Stockman of Harrisonburg;
one son, Kenneth Stockman and wife Shiela of Rowlette, TX; two daughters, Margie McNaughton and husband Curtis of Olla, and Jeannie Nowlin and husband Donnie of Harrisonburg; three brothers,Stewart Stockman and
wife Ida Mae of Jonesville, R. T. Stockman and wife Nancy of Monterey, and Dewey Wayne Stockman and wife Deloris of Rhinehart; two sisters, Marlene Case of Pineville, and Helen Bartmess of Winnsboro; seven grandchildren, Amy McNaughton, Anthony McNaughton, Justin Nowlin, Brandon Nowlin, Jeremy Nowlin, Colby Stockman and Chaste Stockman; 11 great grandchildren and a host ofnieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Colby Stockman, Chaste Stockman, Anthony McNaughton, Jeremy Nowlin, Brandon Nowlin, and Randy Stockman. Ministers served as honorary pallbearers.
