James Claudie Skipper, Jr., 56, of Columbia, passed from this life on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Vidalia. He was born Tuesday, June 11, 1957 in Seminole, Texas. James was a member of Whitehall Pentecostal Church and a driller for Viking Drilling International. Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 5, at Whitehall Pentecostal Church, east of Jena, with Rev. Joey Paul officiating. Interment will follow in the Legion Memorial Cemetery at ewellton under direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Ferriday. He was preceded in death by his father, James Skipper, Sr.; brothers, Bobby Skipper and Jerry Don Skipper; infant daughter, Angel Shea Skipper; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Skipper; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lisenbee; and nephew, Justin Skipper. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Skipper of Columbia; daughter, April Skipper and Daron Johnson of Olla; mother, Lanell Skipper of Vidalia; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Darron Johnson, Roy Spivey, Joe Wallace, Larry Wayne Atkins, Jermey Wallace, Scott Page, Roy Skipper, Mike Ainsworth, Daniel Roark, and Travis Skipper. The family will receive friends at Whitehall Pentecostal Church from 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, June 4
