The Jena Town Council went on record at its July meeting held Tuesday night of last week in support of LaSalle Parish becoming a Certified Work Ready Community. The new program is being advocated by the Central Louisiana Development Alliance (CLEDA) because of a shortage of a qualified workforce in the area. “Because we are suffering from a shortage of a qualified workforce in LaSalle Parish, we feel that by creating a Certified
Work Ready Community, it will help fill a gap created by increased local employment,” Mayor Murphy McMillin told members of the Council.
