Barbara Jean Childress, 74, of Olla, passed from this life on Saturday, August 2, 2104, at her residence. She was born December 11, 1939 in Monroe to her parents, Auda Hillman and Mary Lee Atkinson Meador. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and sister that will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved her. A memorial service celebrating her life was held at 3 p.m., Monday, Aug. 4, at Fellowship Baptist Church
in Belah. Arrangements were under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, James Gilbert Childress, Sr. Survivors include two sons, James Childress, Jr.  and Donald Wayne Childress, both of Olla; two daughters, Alice “Sissy” Breithaupt of Columbia and Anita Childress of Olla; three brothers, Buddy Meador of Monroe, Donald Meador of West Monroe, and Johnny Meador of Houston, TX; one sister, Margaret Fontana of Monroe; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren
