Leslie Lois Breithaupt, 94, of Jena passed from this life on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena. He was born June 16, 1919, in Archie, to the union of Terry Calhoun and Letha Susannah Walker Breithaupt. Mr. Breithaupt was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Louisiana State Central Hospital of Pineville. Services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 5, at Whitehall United Pentecostal

Bonnie Lois Berlinger, 73, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at The Columns Community Care Center in Jonesville. She was born April 16, 1940, in Oberlin, to the union of her parents, Nealy J. and Mollie Veillion Rider. Mrs. Berlinger was a caregiver and worked as a nurses’ aide. William Bradford “Brad” Hodges

William Howard “Bill” Edwards, 68, passed from this life on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Pisgah Baptist Church of Manifest with Rev. Ken Hoots officiating. Interment followed in the Heard Cemetery of Manifest under direction of Magnolia Funeral Home of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Corrine and Ocie Edwards of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Linda Ellett Edwards; sons, Will Edwards and wife Stacy, and Brad Edwards and Haley Wright; three grandchildren, Jacob Edwards, Nathan Edwards, and Emily Edwards; one brother-in-law, Otha Thomas Ellett and wife Lea of Irvington, AL; one sister-inlaw, Dorthey Massey of Long Beach, CA; five nephews, four nieces, and sixteen great nieces and nephews.

George Thomas “Tony” Wyant, 77, of Enterprise, passed from this life on Monday, December 2, 2013, at his daughter’s residence in Winnsboro. He was born July 24, 1936 in Catahoula Parish to the union of his parents, Thomas Wyant and Lottie Jackson Wyant. Tony was a member of the New Ouachita Baptist Church of Enterprise. Catherine E. Edwards

Catherine E. Edwards, 86, of Jena, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Sharptown, to the union of John M. and Lillie M.
Adams Hudnall. Mrs. Edwards was employed by the LaSalle Parish School Board as a cook at Jena High School for 18 years. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church of Rhinehart, a loving wife who loved to fish with her husband and being a housewife and homemaker is what she loved to do. Services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Mike Russell officiating.
Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery of Rhinehart under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Edwards; brothers, Roy Hudnall and Ed Hudnall; and

Kenneth Ray “Katfish” McCartney, 66, of the Trinity Community near Jonesville, passed from this life on Sunday, November 23, 2013, after suffering a heart attack. He was born June 7, 1947 in Trout to the union of his parents, James Nelson McCartney and Frances Elizabeth Hemphill McCartney. Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Army. His service in Vietnam was forgotten by the country he loved, yet his pride and love of this great country
