Johnnie Joseph Dugan, Jr.

Johnnie Joseph Dugan, Jr., 50, of Jena, passed from this life on Sunday, August 30, 2015, at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was born September 28, 1964 in Raceland. Johnnie worked offshore as a steward. Memorial services were held Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Joseph Dugan, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Pamela Dugan of Jena; daughters, Jericha “J.M.” Dugan and Brin Dugan, both of Buffalo, NY, Trista Gladish and Chris of Pittsburg, PA, Alisha Terral and Eric of Jena; sons, Johnnie J. Dugan, III and Lindsey of Jena, and Evan Brown and Lacy of Jena; mother, Rowena Marie Orgeron of Jena; sister, Brenda McDaniel and Ralph of Duncan, OK; brother, Bryan Dugan and Rhonda of Aimwell; God children, Kaleigh and Anthony Capogna of Duncan, OK, and Dustin Walters of Jena; and seven grandchildren.

Janet Edwards, 59, of Georgetown, passed from this life on Friday, August 28, 2015. Services were held at 4 p.m., Thursday, September 3, at Zion Baptist Church of Georgetown with Rev. Dick Debusk officiating. Survivors include two sons, Jamie Edwards and wife Brittney, and Bubba Edwards and Starr; brothers, Joey Medere, James Medere and Jason Medere; grandchildren, Gracie, Sierra, Maddie and Alana; and her beloved dog, Snapper. Arrangements were under direction of Magnolia Funeral Home of Alexandria.

She was born December 13, 1933 and passed from this life on Monday, August 31, 2015. Interment followed at the Hebert Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.

Carolyn Aymond Norris

Carolyn Aymond Norris, 62, of Marksville, passed from this life on Friday, September 4, 2015, at Colonial Nursing Home in Marksville. She was born January 13, 1953 to the union of her parents, Archange and Corrine Charrier Aymond. Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, September 7, at Hessmer Baptist Church in Hessmer with Pastor Nicholas Maricle and Rev. Lloyd LaCombe officiating, respectively. Interment followed in Cushman Cemetery in Marksville under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Luther Aymond and Edral Aymond; and first husband, Dewman Dauzat. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Melvin Norris of Marksville; three sons, Shane Dauzat of Marksville, Kevin Dauzat and wife Belinda of Jena, and Christopher Norris of Marksville; one daughter, Karen Dauzat Adams and husband Chris of Hessmer; and five grandchildren.

Gary Edward Price

Gary Edward Price, 66, ofBelah, passed from this life on Sunday, August 30, 2015, at his residence. He was born October 7, 1948 in Jena to the union of his parents, Willie Allen and Dottie Beatrice Windham Price. Gary was a driller for Chiles Drilling Company in the oilfield industry, and a veteran of the United States Army. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Joey Grappe officiating. Interment will follow in the Price-Jones Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Louise Littleton Price of Belah; daughters, Lana Holton and Kelli Ann Pritchard, both of Trout; sons, Gary Micheal Price of Livingston, and Charles King, Jr. of Trout; sister, Olivia June Marcum of Logan, WV; brother, Willie Kendall Price of Zwolle; 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Myrtis Lea Masters

Myrtis Lea Masters, 91, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at LaSalle General Hospital of Jena. She was born November 20, 1923 in Walters to the union of her parents, Joseph Theodore and Annie Sanson Chevallier. Mrs. Masters was a homemaker and a member of Prosperity Baptist Church and the Michael Dempsey Eastern Star Lodge 327 of Jena. She loved sewing, quilting and gardening, and worked in the cafeteria at Jena Elementary School for 13 years. Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 28, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Oliver Dean and Tommy Sanson officiating. Interment followed in the Woodland Cemetery, east of Jena, under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Lavious Masters.
