James “Jim” Brooks, 72, of Tullos, passed from this life on Friday, October 3, 2014, at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. He was born December 29, 1941 in Montgomery, Alabama, to the union of Joe and Vallie Brooks.
Jim was retired from La- Salle Correctional Center after eight years of work. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Jena, was a mason, and loved to play music and fish. Services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 6, at the Urania Pentecostal Church with Pastor Clay Hutto and Pastor Ken Hatfield officiating. Interment followed in the Urania Cemetery in Urania under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia/Olla. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Melba Darnell and Betty Cliff. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Sue Brooks of Tullos; three sons, Robert Brooks and wife Mary of Atlanta, Roger Bordelon of Jena,
