Calvin Leo Gatlin, Jr.

Calvin Leo Gatlin, Jr., 57, of Tullos, passed from this life on Monday, July 19, 2010, at his residence.

He was born on September 16, 1952 in Marvell, Arkansas, to the union of Lois Marie McGloflin Gatlin and Leo Gatlin, Sr.

Calvin attended Straight Road Full Gospel Church in Olla. He had served in the Louisiana National Guard and was employed by the LaSalle Correctional Center in Urania.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 22, in the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with the Revs. E. R. Johnson and John Norwood officiating.

Interment followed in the Wright Cemetery at Sikes under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dee Gatlin and David Gatlin; and niece, Mary Ann Goodwin.

Survivors include three sisters, Betty Goodwin and husband Charles of Urania, Thelma Cox and husband Herbert, and Donna Bruce and husband Buck, all of Tullos; the children he claimed by heart, nieces Kristy Goodwin and Two of Olla, and Marie Hooter and Matt of Tullos; nephews, Brian Gatlin and Tootie of Jena, Brad and Brandon; and his biggest joy and greatest pride, the “kids” – Keylie, Westyn and Talon.

Pallbearers were John Paylor, Brandon Bruce, Buck Bruce, Henry Sootoo, Two Williams, and Zach Cox.
