Charles A. Posey, 86, of Aimwell, passed from this life on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at LaSalle General Hospital of Jena. He was born June 14, 1927 in Aimwell to the union of his parents, John D. Posey, Sr. and Elzena Ashley Posey. Mr. Posey was a family man who deer hunted and fished and loved to garden and raise cattle. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, at New Life Pentecostal Church of Aimwell with the Revs. David Poole and Daryl Floyd officiating. Interment followed in the Siloam Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, J. D. Posey, Jr. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Joyce Posey of Aimwell; two daughters, Jo Alice Lee of Pineville and Darlene Jones of Urania; two sons, Charles Lamar Posey of Baton Rouge, and Michael Posey of Corinth, TX; one sister, Helen Marie Carruth of Cottondale, AL; two brothers, Carl Posey of Olla and Alvie Posey of Aimwell; five grandchildren, Reuben Charles Posey of Austin, TX, Marla Grannon of New Orleans, Stormy Couch of Aimwell, Shaun Stanfield of Urania, and Alice Noel Lee of Pineville; and two great grandchildren, Chetney Baronet and Cayden Baronet. Pallbearers were Lionel Posey, Mark Posey, Ronnie Posey, Shaun Stanfield, Michael Couch, and James Richardson.
