The Town of Jena celebrated a new portion of the Jena Vision Trail opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday at the Jena City Park. The trail’s construction is due to funding from the Live Lively LaSalle! Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation grant. The ceremony was held after the LaSalle Parish 4-H Family Walk on the trail. The walk’s participants were present for the photo along with front (left to right) Jena Councilman Tommy Sandifer, LaSalle Parish 4-H Agent Kim Evans, Olla Council members Rhonda Elliott and Joe Rachal, Jena Mayor Murphy McMillin, Blue Cross-Blue Shield Grant Project Researcher Elizabeth Gollub of Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Jena Councilman David Paul Jones, LEDD Executive Director Cynthia Cockerham, Jena Councilman Donny Richardson, Jena Town Clerk Cory Floyd, Jena Assistant Town Clerk Aubrey McAnn and Olla Town Clerk Wendy Allbritton.
