Tommy Earl Cruse, 69, of Boyce, passed from this life on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at his residence. He was born August 13, 1944 in Urania to the union of his parents, Shelton and Wilma Cruse. Tommy was an avid
sportsman. He played all sports at LaSalle High School and was the quarterback for the fighting Tigers football team. He graduated from LHS in 1963. Tommy was also an avid golfer. He once won the Club Championship at LaSalle Golf and Country Club. He was especially proud of his sister, Kathy, who became a golf professional. Tommy loved the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers and was always glued to the television each time either played. He loved all of his children and grandchildren and was loved by all of them. He lived his life openly and unapologetically. Tommy was a retired welder with McDermott Fabrication in Amelia and was a longtime resident of Alexandria and Houma. He was a Christian, being baptized in the Castor Creek along with his brother as a young boy. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for many years. A memorial service for
Tommy will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 1st at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Wilma Cruse of Vicksburg, MS; two sisters, Gerry Shephard of Shreveport, and Kathy Hester of Vicksburg; one brother, Danny Cruse of Oregon; his children and grandchildren and a whole host of friends and other relatives.
