Ricky Milton Miles, 65, of Belah, went to Heaven from his home on Friday, January 3, 2014, after an extended illness. He was born Sunday, September 5, 1948 in Jena to  the union of Milton and Audrey Tarver Miles. He was the grandson of Walter and Lula Miles and Virgle and Marie Tarver. Ricky was a 1966 graduate of Jena High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as a sergeant during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Hunt Energy and enjoyed spending time with his family at his family camp on Black River Lake and was an avid football fan, especially of the LSU Tigers. Services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 5, in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with the Revs. Johnnie Phillips and Ronnie Tarver officiating. Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc. of Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; a cousin, Dianne Bolton Tarver; and a host of aunts and uncles. Survivors incude his wife of 34 years, Billie Wallace Miles of Belah; one son, Donny Milton Miles and wife Gerri of Jena; one  daughter, Christina Miles Poole and husband Steve of Jena; one step-daughter, Sara Brooks Tucker of Farmerville; two step-sons, Trey Brooks and Jared Brooks, both of Jena; his grandchildren, Ethan Poole, Emily Poole, and Jillian Miles; step-grandchildren, Kaity Brooks, Alexis Brooks, Jordon Brooks, Austin Tucker, and Adam Tucker; two sisters, Anne Miles Roark and husband Kenneth of West Monroe, and Betty Marie Miles of Belah; and a special sister-in-law, Shirley Jeffrey. Pallbearers were Keith Tarver, Ethan Poole, Stanley Nichols, Reggie Loe, Donnie Richardson, and Bill Jeffrey. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Tarver, Randy Paul, Raymond Paul, Hig Hailey, J. W. Thomas, Donald Cooper, June Fowler, Mack Fowler, Ray Gaines, and Wayne Richardson.
