Nine-year-old Kaitlyn Driver, a student at Good Pine Middle School, enjoyed her “Sneaux Day” by making a snow angel on the Jena Vision Nature Trail at Jena City Park last Friday. Kaitlyn is the daughter of Eric and Meshelle Driver of Jena. Students across LaSalle Parish, as well as adjoining parishes, enjoyed similar activities as they were out of school all day on Friday while up to three inches of snow blanketed the parish. Dangerous driving conditions because of the snow and ice kept many residents inside their homes and numerous vehicles careened into ditches due to icy roads. The LaSalle Parish Police Jury officially closed the LaSalle Courthouse for the safety of those employed in various offices. Freezing temperatures kept most of the snow around throughout Friday and it was not until temperatures rose on Saturday that the snow began to melt.
