Norman and Norma Burmah recently celebrated their 83rd wedding anniversary, making them the longest known married couple in the United States. The couple were first recognized in 2012 by the Louisiana Family Forum as being the longest married couple in Louisiana, but after more research, it was discovered that they are also the longest known married couple in the United States. At 103 and 100, Norman and Norma, live independently in their home in Marksville, where they attend Holy Ghost Catholic Church.
