Jarred Lynn Taylor, 26, of Olla, passed from this life on Monday, March 10, 2014, from injuries sustained in a vehicle crash on LA 124 in Winn Parish. He was born Saturday, October 10, 1987 in Ruston. Jarred was a graduate of Dodson High School and attended Huey P. Long Technical College in Winnfield. He was employed with Justiss Oil Company of Jena. He was an avid outdoorsman who considered his three sons his entire world. Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 13, at Siloam Baptist Church with the Revs. Charles Hammons and Stuart Toms officiating. Interment followed in Gansville Cemetery of Dodson under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny L. Taylor; paternal grandfather, Lynn Taylor; paternal great grandparents, S. D. and Edna Avery; and maternal great grandparents, Benjamin and Bessie Broomfield. Survivors include three sons, Weston, Waylon and Jentry, all of Olla; his mother, Lori Young Richardson and husband Mark of Olla; sister, Chelsea Higgs and husband Haven of Olla; special niece, Caidence Higgs; step-sisters, Erin Masters and husband Clint, Hailey McDaniel and husband Chad, and Blair Richardson; maternal grandparents, Travis and Cherry Young of Jonesboro; paternal grandmother, Lynda Taylor of Dodson; aunts and uncles, Leah and Jason Spangler of Quitman and Pat and Cristy Posey of Dodson; cousins, Avery and Seth Spangler, Ashton and Tyler Posey; paternal great grandmother, Gladys Taylor of Dodson; step-great grandparents, Curtis and Lois Richardson of Grayson; mothers of his children, Lacy Taylor of Millry, AL, and Brittany Johnson of Goldonna; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Justin “Jug” Brooks, Haven Higgs, Chris West, Houston Higgs, Holden Higgs, and James Beasley. Honorary pallbearers were Tyler Posey, Pat Posey, Jason Spangler, and Seth Spangler.
