W. A. “Pee Wee” Johnson

W. A. “Pee Wee” Johnson, 85, of Trout, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 1, 2014,  at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena. He was born September 27, 1928 in Walters to the union of Robert Lee and Lena Bradford Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a Mason.  “Pee Wee” retired from Justiss Oil Company and served as a volunteer at the LaSalle Mission House in Jena for 25 years, along with his wife, Laverne. Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 3, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers  Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Ricky Gresham and Walter Lloyd officiating. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Neal Johnson; his parents; grandson, Jimmie William Scales; and four brothers, Bobby Johnson, J. C. Johnson, Pat Johnson, and Larry Johnson.  Survivors include his daughter, Darlea Johnson Ourso and husband Nere; son, Glenn Johnson and
wife Sonia; brother, Lester Johnson; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Leslie Ray Humphries, Danny Humphries,  Butch Bradford, De- Wayne Cloud, Cory Johnson, and Jesse Beebout. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Beech, Josh Bradford, Nere Ourso, Mike Bradford, David Johnson, and Donnie Carraway
