The Buckeye Panthers have had the Jena Giants number the last three years as the Panthers have won all three district matchups. This year the Panthers came to Guy Campbell Memorial Stadium for homecoming to take on the Giants. The Giants came into the game unbeaten with a 3-0 record and were looking to improve to 4-0 for the first time since the 2006 season. The Panthers were looking to pick up their first win as their young team has started off the year 0-3. This would be the district opener for both teams who were looking to get off to a good start in district with a win.
