The first round of the Class 3A state softball playoffs started on Monday as #27 Eunice traveled to take on #6 Jena. Amber Arvie would be in the circle for Eunice as she went up against Kat Wilson for Jena.

Jena would get on the board in the bottom of the first as Tamia and Tiondria Brown would score on a wild pitch to give the Lady Giants a 2-0 lead. The Lady Giants would extend their lead to 3-0 later on in the inning after an RBI double by Peyton Hebron.
