The Jena Lady Giants made a trip to Sulphur for the 4th time in 5 years this past weekend. In their previous three trips to Sulphur the Lady Giants won a game in Sulphur in two of the three years with their best performance coming in the 2014 season in which they finished as the state runner ups.

The Lady Giants made it to Sulphur in the first year of head coach Sarah Roark despite having one of the toughest schedules in the state. The Lady Giants earned the trip to Sulphur by defeating Jewell Sumner 2-1 in the 2nd round of the playoffs. In the quarterfinal round the Lady Giants would play #3 Caldwell Parish. The Lady Giants defeated Caldwell 14-10 earlier in the year.
