What began as an idea on the heart and mind of one man to fill a need in the community has now become a reality with over a dozen youth and adults involved in the IronHead Youth Development Program, Inc. in Jena, but the kids need the help of the community for the program to continue.

The IronHead Y.D.P. is currently selling t-shirts to help fund the program as well as accepting donations. Before giving, community members might say – “But what is this program all about?” Founder LaJerrick “L.J.” Taylor says an IronHead is someone who embodies the program’s mission statement: Invigorate, Respect, Optimal Health, Nourishment, Honor, Encouragement, Ambition, Dream.
