Summer Day Camps prove successful

Over 180 LaSalle Parish youth spent the month of June learning more about nutrition, healthy living and gaining a greater appreciation for the parish’s parks and outdoor spaces thanks to The Rapides Foundation and LEDD in conjunction with the towns and entities involved with the Healthy LaSalle! Summer Day Camp program.

The camps, open to youth enrolled in Pre-K through fifth grade, were held two days a week for a total of eight sessions from 8 to 11:45 a.m. at each of the six locations – Jena Town Park, the Olla Recreational Complex, Potty Tannehill Memorial Park in Urania, Tullos Memorial Park, the Jena Band of Choctaw Tribal Center Park and Recreation District No. 10 (Ward 10 Park).
