While the NFL was marred with controversy Sunday concerning over 100 players across the league refusing to stand for the National Anthem before games, LaSalle Parish high schools did not succumb to the political winds. Players, coaches, cheerleaders, dance, band, and fans alike all stood proudly last Friday night at Jena and LaSalle high schools before the start of their football games to pay tribute to the American Flag and the United States of America it represents.
