Man guilty of 2 counts of first-degree murder

A 40-year-old Urania man was found guilty by a 12-member jury of two counts of first-degree murder during a trial in 28th Judicial District Court held the first three days of last week, according to District Attorney J. Reed Walters.

The Jury found Randy Eugene Waits, 40, of Urania, guilty of the murders of Patsy Cotten, 73, of Urania, and Kylie King Duncan, 19, also of Urania. The murders took place near Urania on April 22, 2015.
