Smoke-free living has come to LaSalle Parish with smokefree signage going up across the parish thanks to funding through The Rapides Foundation’s Healthy Places LaSalle! grant.

The signage is part of a self-regulated campaign in the parish to promote smoke-free living. Earlier this year, each town in the parish as well as the LaSalle Parish Police Jury, Recreation District 22, Recreation District 10 and the Jena Band of Choctaw have passed either a smoke-free or tobacco-free policy (if one did not already exist) for outdoor spaces such as farmers markets, town squares, walking trails, parks and ball fields.
