Michael ‘Mikie’ Butler

Michael “Mikie” Shayne Butler, 38, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Monday, January 29, 2018, from injuries he sustained in a traffic accident near Tallulah. He was born May 31, 1979 in Natchez, Mississippi. Mikie was employed by Chess Oil Services of Jonesville. He was formerly employed by Catahoula Correctional Center in Harrisonburg, but worked in the oilfield industry for the majority of his life. Mikie always had a smile on his face. He loved to deer hunt and spend time with his family, especially his sons and grandson. Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Sandy Lake Pentecostal church in the Sandy Lake Community of Catahoula Parish with the Revs. Chris Hamilton and Joel Ford officiating. Interment followed in the Hamilton Cemetery at Aimwell under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Butler; brother, Billy Joe Butler; grandson, Jason Rollins; and paternal grandfather, Son Hardie. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Robbie Rollins Butler of Jonesville; mother, Dorothy Hardie of Trout; step-mother, Lilly Butler of Jonesville; sons, Trenton Butler and Ryan Butler, both of Jonesville; step-sons, Robert Rollins and David Tyler Gordon, both of Jonesville; step-daughter, Robin Gordon of Jonesville; sisters, Nikki Prudhomme of Trout and Anglea Garrett of Jonesville; maternal grandmother, Joyce Hardie of Jonesville; special nephews, Cody Nugent and Jeremy Laborde, both of Jonesville; and grandchildren, Max Rollins of Jonesville and Layla Jones of Jena. Serving as pallbearers were Cody Nugent, Kenny Brown, Chester Franklin, Curtis Butler, Jr., Joseph Franklin and Eric Butler. Honorary pallbearers were Wyatt Harris, Scottie Boothe, Derek Hardie, Caleb Rollins, and the crew from Chess Oil Services.
