The Jena Giants came into this past week unbeaten in district play and alone on top of the district standings. With the Caldwell Spartans only one game behind the Giants in the district standings Jena was looking to stay unbeaten and on top of the standings. The Giants district opponent this past week was the Avoyelles Mustangs.

On Tuesday the Giants played the Mustangs at home in Jena. The Giants came in with a 15-8 overall and 4-0 district record. The Giants have made a habit of coming from behind to pick up these district wins. The Giants would have to do the same in this one as they would fall behind 2-0 in the top of the 4th inning. The Giants would tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the 5th as Jordan Overstreet would score on a RBI double by Trelon Jones.
