Lyndall Roy Kitterlin, 75, of Jena, passed from this life on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the LaSalle General Hospital of Jena.
He was born June 11, 1942 in Jena to the union of his parents, John and Ruby Elizabeth Clark Kitterlin.
Lyndall was a mechanic for Hunt Petroleum for 36 years, until his retirement in 1994. He was a veteran of the Louisiana National Guard, serving from 1963 to 1969.
He represented his district on the LaSalle Parish Police Jury for three terms from 1978 to 1991, and served as president of the Jury for several years. He was a coach in the Jena Dixie Youth baseball program for several years when his sons played ball.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 30, at the Pine Grove Baptist Church of Rhinehart with his son, Rev. Derek Kitterlin and Rev. Ricky Gresham officiating.
Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery of Rhinehart under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John “Buster” Kitterlin; sisters, Vernie Marie Wright and Kathy Gayle Kitterlin; and granddaughter, Kassie Grace Franklin.
Those left to cherish in his memory include his wife, Linda Cockerham Kitterlin of Jena; sons, Darryle Kitterlin and wife Brittany of Jena, and Derek Kitterlin and wife Stefanie of Abita Springs; daughters, Stephanie McCarroll and husband Mike of Jena and Kimberly Franklin and husband Craig of Jena; sister, Jean Hutchinson of Ball; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jason and Calvin McCarroll, Ashton Slocum, Lannah Kitterlin, Bradley Kitterlin, Kailee Slocum, Drew Bradford, Jace Kitterlin, Reagan Franklin Watkins, Tyler, Tanner, Trace and Tripp Franklin, Allie, Tori- Kate and Chloe Kitterlin; great grandchildren, Legend Atnip, Alexis McCarroll, Landon McCarroll, Lathan Sims, Lauren Shipley, Lacey Shipley and Hadassah Franklin.
Pallbearers were Charley Chapman, Larkin Jackson, Randy Sharp, John Millner, Joe Merle Francis and Howard Hardy.
Grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.
