Wanda Morgan

Wanda Morgan, 73, of Trout, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the LaSalle Nursing Home of Jena. She was born July 17, 1944 in Shreveport. Wanda was a minister’s wife and they pastored Faith Temple Church of Trout and Joyce Assembly of God of Joyce. She enjoyed working faithfully in church ministry. Wanda enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and was always laughing and loved to sew, quilt, and crochet. She loved to sing her favorite song, “Mansion over the Hilltop” and was known for her “Cathead” biscuits. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 11, at the Goldonna Assembly of God Church. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in Goldonna, under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Morgan, Sr.; son-in-law, Bill Thornton; grandson, Micheal Wilson; and brother, Michael Aldy. Those left to cherish in her memory include her sons, John Morgan, Jr. and wife Sheila of Jena, Mark Morgan and wife Shelia of Jonesville, and James Morgan of Jena; daughter, Teresa Morgan of Jena; brother, Leon Aldy and wife Brenda of Jonesboro; sister, Robin Rippy and husband Darrell of Gallatin, TN; grandchildren, Mike Morgan, Steven Morgan, Drake Morgan, and Kelsey Swim; great grandchildren, Hadley Morgan, Gabriella Swim, Elijah Swim and Asher Taylor. Pallbearers were Michael Morgan, Alex Stewart, Steven Morgan, Andrew Morgan, Todd Hughes and Larry Easterling. Honorary pallbearers were Jimbo Davis, Trip Davidson, Kevin Aldy and Jimmy Gates.
