Donald Lawrence Cooper, 73, of Rogers Community, passed from this life on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was born Jauaury 11, 1945 in Clarks to the union of Lawrence and Ludie Auttonberry Cooper. Donald was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church and worked as a superintendent for Twin City Electric for 25 years and was also a cook in the Louisiana National Guard for 6 years. He loved hunting and fishing and Saints football. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 19, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Interment followed in the Hurricane Creek Cemetery in the Hurricane Creek Community under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc of Jena. Those left to cherish in his memory include his wife, Gail Cooper of Rogers; son, Justin Cooper and wife Misty of Rogers; daughter, Gayla Dunn and husband Joe of Slidell; grandchildren, Katelyn and Peyton Cooper of Rogers; step grandchildren, Melinda Dunn of Slidell and Nathan Dunn of Fort Worth, TX; and step great granddaughter, Elaina Dunn of Fort Worth, TX. Pallbearers were Doug Prudhomme, Lanny Webb, Darryl McDowell, Sonny Webb, Little Mike Auttonberry and Toby Auttonberry. Honorary pallbearers were Bubba Crawford, Bo Auttonberry and Mike Auttonberry.
