Lisa Michele Brown

Michele Brown, 41, of Jena, gained her wings on April 28, 2018 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was born October 20, 1976 in Pineville to Betty Brown and the late Link Simmons. Lisa was baptized at Mars Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Benjamin Henry. Services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Mars Hill Baptist Church near Jena with Rev. Gregory Tolbert officiating. Interment followed in Webster Cemetery of Good Pine under direction of Gayden Funeral Home of Jena. She was preceded in death by her father, Link Simmons; brother, David Brown; sister, Christine Simmons; and daughter, Chelsey Renay Brown. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving mother, Betty Jean Brown of Jena; daughter, Shaneka LaShay Brown (De’Quincy) of Jonesville; eight sisters, Pamela Thomas (Norman) of Alexandria, Linda Faye Smith (Henry), Barbara Lynn Brown, and Brenda Renay Brown, all of Jena, Carlean James, Angela Theresa Jackson, Sharon Davis, and Barbara Moore, all of Atlanta, TX; three brothers, Darren Brown (Vanessa) of Jena, Mikel Brown (Kalesia) of Pineville, and Marvin Ray Simmons (LaKimberly) of Atlanta, TX; her godmother, Linda Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers were Dexter Harrison, Perry Beard, Jr., Deontre Brown, Brandon Gibbs, Leon Dean, and Derrick Bullitts. Honorary pallbearers were Mikel Brown, Jr., Elijah Brown, Darren Brown, Darryeon Brown, Ronald McGee, Kaleb Brown, Keith Brown, Norman Thomas, Jimmy Webb, and Jeffrey Fritz.
