Starting a business but need help? Look no farther than the Louisiana Small Business Development Center who has partnered with LaSalle Economic Development District (LEDD) to bring a free workshop to LaSalle Parish entrepreneurs. The workshop, “Starting & Financing a Small Business,” is for individuals interested in determining the feasibility of their business idea, planning to start or have recently started a small business, seeking a small business loan or wanting to learn more about business planning.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the CLTCC-Rod Brady campus (521 E. Bradford Street) in Jena. The speakers will be Amy Jones, a Louisiana Small Business Development Center-NWCR Business Consultant, and Cynthia Cockerham, LEDD Executive Director for Community Development. An identical workshop was held last week at the Dixie Center in downtown Olla. “Classes like this one are important, especially to people of this area, because small businesses are the back bone of all communities,” Jones said. “They’re our bread and butter. Many people do not know how to start one and go into it blind with lack of planning. We’re here to help.
