Alice P. St

Alice Pyles Strong, 99, of Delhi, went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at the Deerfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 21, 1918 in Bienville Parish to the union of her parents, John Pyles and Maude Smith Pyles. Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, at the Dunn Baptist Church with the Revs. Bernard Duchesne, Jr. and Terry Slawson officiating. Interment followed in the Faith Memorial Park Cemetery, south of Delhi, under direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Harvey Strong; a son, Robert Earle Strong; two grandchildren, Tammie Slawson and Gene Strong; and seven siblings, Jasper Pyles, Mary Neal, Ethel Snowden, Agnes Holliday, Willie Lou Simmons, Henry Pyles and Ruby Lorraine Salters. She is survived by three children, James T. “Jimmy” Strong and wife Marianne, and Merle Curry and husband James, both of Delhi, and Sandra Sanders and husband Elton of Jena; six grandchildren, Susanne Bembenick, Lynanne Pennebaker, Teri Grantham, Susan McDowell, Eddie Thomas and J. T. Strong; 13 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jeremy Wheat, Austyn Davis, Todd Pennebaker, Jason McDowell, Jamie Weems, Eddie Thomas, Chris Bembenick, Justyn Slawson and Ben Lonadier. Honorary pallbearers were Zac Bembenick and Elliot Strong. Any planned memorials may be made to the Dunn Baptist Church; Strong Point Ministries, P. O.
