Claudine G. Coon

Claudine Godwin Coon, 93, of Winnfield, departed this life on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at her home in Winnfield after a lengthy illness.
She was born May 4, 1925 in Jena to the union of her parents, Claude and Cora Godwin.
Her life was one of quiet but loving Christian service to her family, church and community.
Claudine was a teacher for several years before her children were born, and dedicated the last 30 years of her work life to Laurel Heights Baptist Church in Winnfield. When she wasn’t busy with service to others, Claudine enjoyed sewing and quilting, and was a member of the Kisatchie Quilters for many years. She also loved the old fashioned arts of canning and preserving, and exhibited the fruits of those labors in the Winn Parish Fair for many years, even winning the honor of exhibiting her jellies, jams and preserves in the Louisiana State Fair on several occasions.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 21, at Laurel Heights Baptist Church in Winnfield.
