Excitement was in the air on Friday, October 5th, as Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards joined Jena Band of Choctaw Indians Chief Cheryl Smith and other Tribal officials, along with local officials, to break ground for the brand new Tribal Administration Center near Trout.

“We have completely out-grown our old administrative building and the new building will provide adequate space for all our offices along with other needs,” Chief Smith said.

Construction will begin on the new facility within the coming weeks, with expected construction time being 12 to 14 months. The new building should open by January 2020.
