Leta Thompson Carson, 74, of Denham Springs, passed from this life on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge.

She was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Walker. She worked with children’s choirs, taught Sunday School, served as church secretary, all at the various churches while being a pastor’s wife.

Mrs. Carson enjoyed her grandchildren and family and will be missed but not forgotten.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Lincecum Baptist Church in Georgetown with the Revs. Lloyd Whitman, Jim Winegart and Lynn Rodrigue, along with Dr. Bill Robertson, officiating.

Interment followed in the Lincecum Baptist Church Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Alexandria.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Leo and Altha Elizabeth Nugent Thompson; sister, Faye Morse; niece, Freda Morse; and nephew, D. L. Morse.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years, Reverend James M. Carson; son, Derek Carson and wife, Melissa, daughter, Libby A. Carson; brother, Gene Edward Thompson; sister, Myrtle Patin and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Nolan Carson and Jillian Carson.

Pallbearers were Jay Carson, Randy Thompson, Tom Carson, Elton Carson, Brandon Wells and Dave Mire.

Honorary pallbearers were Gene Edward Thompson, Bill Morse, Nolan Carson, Seth Riser, Joe Patin and Melvin Edwards.

The family asked memorials be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, P. O. Box 4196, Monroe, LA 71211.
