Many sentenced to prison terms on narcotic charges

Several defendants were sentenced to serve prison terms on illegal narcotic and other charges during early November sessions of 28th Judicial District Court, held in and for the Parish of La-Salle.

The Honorable J. Christopher Peters, District Judge, presided at the session. Also at their regular duties were District Attorney J. Reed Walters and assistants, Deputy Sheriff Alan Graham; Deputy Clerk of Court Reba Mc-Clure, and Court Reporter/Administrator Amy Stapleton.

Dillon L. Nugent pled guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation be performed and due by Dec. 14 with sentencing set for Jan. 8. A post-conviction bond was set in the amount of $50,000. On motion of the State, charges of resisting an officer with force or violence and interference with medical treatment were dismissed.
