William J. Dickey

William Joseph Dickey, 83, of Kelly, passed from this life on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at the St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria.

He was born August 26, 1935 in Crowville to the union of his parents, Garland and Mary Caraway Dickey.

Mr. Dickey was a Godly man who was a member of the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle. He was an active hunter and he also loved to fish. He was a family oriented man and he could play any instrument by ear. He also loved gardening and raising chickens.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle with Pastor Sherman Jones and Rev. Allan Hatten officiating.

Interment followed in the Urania Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lonnie Dickey, Robert Dickey  and Daniel Dickey; and one grandchild, J.J. Dickey.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Vicky Dickey; four sons, Gary Dickey and wife Angie, Don Dickey, Doyle Dickey, and Jackie Dickey and wife Patricia; two daughters, April Allbritton and husband Brian, and Michelle Scribner and husband Lee; three brothers, James Dickey, Johnny Dickey, and Earl Dickey; two sisters, Becky Frost and Marie Huth; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Dustin Dickey, Don Dickey, Jr., Curtis Dickey, and Michael Dickey.

Honorary pallbearers were Gary Dickey, Don Dickey, Doyle Dickey, and Jackie Dickey.
