The highlight of my Christmas

As editor, I get invited to many activities during the Christmas holidays. I always enjoy the senior citizens Christmas dinners held in all four of our towns and getting to visit with old friends and make new ones.

I enjoy a lot of the activities in our community during the Christmas season, and then when family gathers at my home on Christmas day.

But this year there was a special event that quickly became the highlight of my Christmas 2018. It was the “Old Fashioned Christmas at Eden Chapel” held Sunday afternoon before Christmas.

The celebration began when a little before 4 p.m. the children present were asked to come to the back of the church to ring the church bell. They said this was the practice when the church was in full operating mode to signal that it was about time to start services.
