LaSalle Teachers of the Year

The 2018-2019 LaSalle Parish “Teachers of the Year” have been announced. These teachers will now enter district competition with the winners going on to state competition.

Aubrey McAnn, a teacher at Jena Elementary School, is the Elementary School Teacher of the Year. Jessica Ranton, a teacher at LaSalle Junior High School, is the Middle/Junior High School Teacher of the Year. Jamie Munson, a teacher at LaSalle High School, is the High School Teacher of the Year.

Aubrey McAnn

Aubrey began her career at Temple Christian Academy in 2006, where she taught Pre-Kindergarten, first grade and second grade. She then took a break from teaching and worked at Jena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Jena Town Hall. In 2015, she started teaching special education at Jena Elementary (Pre-Kindergarten through second) and still holds this position today.

She graduated with a Bachelor of General Studies from Northwestern State University in 2010. She completed her Master of Arts in Teaching degree at Northwestern State University in May of 2018.

Aubrey is married to Dustin McAnn and they reside in Jena with their daughter, Kennedy. Aubrey is the daughter of Lynda Weeks and the late Daniel Weeks.
