Strong local economy reflected in numbers

The economy of LaSalle Parish grew to record numbers during the year just ended, according to figures contained in stories you will find in this issue of your parish newspaper.

Retail sales in the parish set an all-time high record, coming in at just under $270-million, compared to $230-million the previous year.

Most businesses in the parish reported excellent sales during the year as the cash registers continued to ring. Consumers were spending as never before, especially as they realized the tax savings they received from the late 2017 tax cuts.
