Othel “Dick” Walker

Othel “Dick” Walker, 84, of Jena, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

He was born February 5, 1935 in Dubach.

Mr. Walker was a member of New Evergreen Baptist Church of Jena and an employee at Amos Service Station. He was former cook for Nick’s Café, Justiss Oil, and Windham Oil.

Services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 16, at New Evergreen Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Sibley and Larry Walker officiating.

Interment followed in the Webster Cemetery of Good Pine under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Walker; mother, Bertha McNeil Walker; brother, Jehovah Walker; sisters, Pearlie Walker and Elvon Walker.

Those left to cherish in his memory include his wife, Beulah Mills Walker of Jena; sons, Retired MSG John Mills of Windsor, CA, Retired Dr. Laster Walker of Jacksonville, FL, and Rev. Larry Walker of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Carla Crockett of Jena, Jessie Armstead and Caroline Walker, both of Baton Rouge; six granddaughters; three grandsons; and eight great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Melvin Worthington, Ralph Crockett, Huey Crockett, John Jenkins, Leon Elmo, and Michael Robertson.
