Jimmie Ruth Hooter Haygood, 68, of Lake Charles, and formerly of Enterprise and Columbia, left this earth for her heavenly home on Saturday, June 27, 2019 in Lake Charles after an extended illness.

She was born May 21, 1931 in Enterprise to the union of her parents, E. E. Hooter and Bessie Lambert Hooter.

Jimmie always had a heart for helping others. While her husband was alive, she worked alongside him in various ministries: Sunday school, nursing home ministry, local singing events. They also pastored Plum Grove Pentecostal Church and Burroughs Pentecostal Church.

After her husband passed away, she moved to Lake Charles, and continued her passion to work with the homebound as a private sitter and caregiver. She touched so many with her love and compassion. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 6, at the Old Catahoula Cemetery of Enterprise with Rev. Jason Paul officiating.

Interment followed under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. C. J. Haygood; her parents; and sisters, Anna Lea Crawford and Mona LaDell Pittman.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Candace Mosher and husband Mark of Ragley, LA and Tami Blocker and husband Charlie of Moss Bluff, LA; four grandchildren, Jada Cannon, Garret Vincent and wife Britney, Lauren Ulman and husband Eric, and Stormi Sonnier and husband Clayton; and seven great-grandchildren.
