Retail sales soar

Retail sales in LaSalle Parish for the past fiscal year broke all records with parish wide retail sales increasing by more than 31-percent, according to figures released by the Concordia Sales Tax Collection Agency, which collect sales taxes for several bodies in the parish.

Total retail sales for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019, was placed at $303.0-million, compared to $230.9-million during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018.

The LaSalle Parish School Board and LaSalle Law Enforcement District saw a substantial rise in sales tax collections for the fiscal year, gaining more than 31-percent.
