Urania officials concerned about speed limits in town

Urania Mayor Terri Corley said in light of the recent tragic accident of the Sears/Smith family there have been further concerns about the speed of the log trucks that drive through town.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Sears/Smith family and what happened has caused a lot of concern with our situation and the log trucks,” Corley said. “We’ve done everything in our power to get DOTD to come and lower the speed limit. We need help with the speed limit being lowered and we will keep pushing for it.”

Council member Bill Brown said he has had quite a few people voice this concern to him as well. He said they have spoken to many on the state and local level and it seems their concerns have fallen on deaf ears.
