Mona Sue Hamilton McClure, 63, of Trout, passed away Monday, September 16, 2019, at her residence after a yearlong battle with cancer.

She was born January 5, 1956 in Ferriday, LA to the union of Joe Tooley, Sr. and Mary Alyce Hamilton.

Mona was a retired registered nurse who loved spending time with her family and was an avid gardener. She had a green thumb and could cut and root any plant that she set her mind to grow. She also loved to travel and was able to see much of the world while she and her husband Mike lived in Doha, Qatar.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019, in the chapel of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with Rev. Bill Robertson officiating.

Interment followed in the Hamilton Family Cemetery in Eva, LA, under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Mike McClure of Trout; two children, Amber Banks (Kevin) of Baskin and Jennifer McClure (Danny Campbell) of Trout; four grandchildren, Jacob Banks, Chloe, Calex, and Piper Campbell; siblings Joe Tooley Hamilton, Jr. of Jonesville and Ronnie Hamilton (Sheilah) of Aimwell; and a host of uncles, aunts, brother and sister-n-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers were Jeff McClure, Kevin Banks, Jacob Banks, Danny Campbell, Zac Coon and Gary Book.
